Man Who Hates the Algorithm Named Employee of the Month
He calls it resistance. The dashboard calls it excellent retention.

Too late. You are already reading Broken Zine.
A local man who has spent seven years explaining how social media destroys independent thought has been named Employee of the Month by the algorithm he refers to as “the end of civilization.”
The honor follows a remarkable period of productivity. In September alone, the man posted nineteen critiques of posting, six threads about quitting, three photographs of books he was not reading, and a video in which he stared directly at the camera and asked why everybody needed to be seen.
“I don’t perform for attention,” he said while moving a lamp closer to his face. “I am interested in the truth.”
He then checked whether the truth had received more than forty likes.
According to company records, his most successful post began, “I’m probably going to get attacked for saying this,” and went on to say something everybody in his network already believed.
The platform praised his ability to turn disgust into reliable daily use. Colleagues described him as an unusually committed worker who provides content, recruits customers, moderates disagreements, and never asks to be paid.
The man dismissed the award as a cynical attempt to domesticate dissent and immediately posted a twelve-part response. He added an image of the award so nobody would mistake him for someone who cared.
At press time he was preparing another farewell announcement, scheduled for the hour his audience is most active.
