Broken Zine is a home for literary and visual work that catches the creative world in the act of being itself: its ambitions, hypocrisies, absurd little economies, terrible readings, brilliant failures, and occasional flashes of actual genius.
What we want
- Satire that has observed something real, then follows it to an uncomfortable conclusion.
- Fiction, flash, and stories that don’t need an introduction defending their significance.
- Poetry with a voice, an ear, and a reason to exist beyond its author’s biography.
- Essays, criticism, dispatches, dialogues, and uncomfortable reports from the arts and small-press worlds.
- Original cartoons, comics, photography, collage, and other visual work.
- Something strange and excellent that no category will hold.
We aren’t looking for résumés dressed up as art, workshop exercises, generic manifestos, or earnest descriptions of why the work is important. Let the work make that case.
