Small Press Alert: Uncompromising Voices Must Have 5,000 Followers

We have no prescribed style. We do have a spreadsheet.

READ THE FINE PRINT

Fictional call. Real institutional habits.

AUTHENTICITY QUARTERLY invites urgent, dangerous, uncompromising work from voices that refuse to be contained by traditional categories, provided those voices can demonstrate at least 5,000 engaged followers across two major platforms.

We are particularly interested in writing that challenges power, exposes complicity, and could be adapted into a ninety-second vertical video.

Our editors reject arbitrary rules. We do, however, require a third-person bio, a professional headshot, a two-sentence personal brand statement, recent engagement metrics, and an explanation of how your work aligns with our Q4 growth strategy.

What we’re seeking:

  • Radical poetry that does not endanger our corporate partnerships.
  • Uncomfortable truths, preferably ones our audience already believes.
  • Unclassifiable forms that can be assigned to one of our seven content pillars.
  • Writers who have been silenced, especially those with a podcast.

Our reading process is blind. The editor assessing your work will not see your name while reviewing your audience analytics.

Submission fee: $35. For $55, receive an expedited rejection. For $95, a member of the team will record a thirty-second video explaining that your voice matters.

Payment is exposure. Contributors who already have substantial exposure will be expected to provide their own.

We cannot accept previously published work, simultaneous submissions, or requests to be paid.

Our next issue is called Against the Machine. It is sponsored by the machine.

SAM ROOK

Sam Rook keeps an eye on tiny presses, strange publications, Xerox economies, and editorial projects held together by staples and nerve.

Push something. The magazine is poorly supervised.
