Drawn Wrong: The Meeting That Could Have Been a Doodle

A visual field report from the margins of a meeting nobody survived with dignity.

Too late. You are already reading Broken Zine.

The official agenda had six items.

The unofficial agenda, drawn in the margins of my notebook, had a shark wearing a necktie, a copier on fire, and a tiny man climbing out of a pie chart.

By minute twenty-three, the shark had become Director of Operations.

By minute forty-one, the copier had unionized.

By minute fifty-eight, the tiny man had reached the top of the pie chart and was waving for rescue.

Someone asked whether we had “alignment on next steps.”

I drew a trapdoor under the conference table.

Art is sometimes just the part of the meeting that tells the truth.
