TOUCH THE EVIDENCE
Nothing happened. That is exactly what it wants you to think.
Dispatch from the Laundromat Vending Machine
The machine sells detergent, dryer sheets, and one item nobody remembers stocking.
PRESS FOR REASSURANCE
Too late. You are already reading Broken Zine.
The laundromat vending machine has four buttons.
DETERGENT. DRYER SHEETS. BLEACH. OTHER.
I press OTHER.
A small cardboard box drops into the tray.
Inside is a single safety pin and a note:
YOU WILL NEED THIS LATER.
I ask the attendant.
He does not look up from his phone.
“Don’t press Other,” he says.
“Why?”
“Because then it knows you’re curious.”
My clothes finish drying twelve minutes later.
One shirt is missing a button.
I use the safety pin.
I do not press OTHER again.

RUBY MORROW
Ruby Morrow files dispatches from public spaces, private failures, fluorescent corridors, and the thin membrane between reporting and hallucination.
Push something. The magazine is poorly supervised.
PUSH THE WEIRD BUTTON
A small bureaucrat somewhere just stamped APPROVED FOR NONSENSE.
